Editorial Guidelines
These guidelines govern how BitAdvent reports, sources and publishes. They exist to keep our coverage accurate, honest and useful — because crypto is a “your money, your life” subject where getting it wrong has real consequences.
Sourcing
Every factual claim is sourced. We link to primary sources — official announcements, on-chain data, regulatory filings, exchange APIs and named documents — rather than rumour or a single anonymous tip. Market data (price, 24-hour change, volume) comes from public exchange APIs; market capitalisation is derived from a live price multiplied by a curated circulating-supply figure, and we say so.
Authorship and accountability
Articles are published under the BitAdvent Editorial collective byline. This is an honest label for a small newsroom, not an invented persona. A named human editor reviews and is accountable for every published claim. We do not use fake author photos, gravatar-default avatars or fabricated career histories.
Our use of AI
We use AI tools to assist with research, drafting, data formatting and editing — the way a modern newsroom uses any tool. AI does not publish unsupervised. A human edits, fact-checks and takes responsibility for everything that goes live, including every figure. We will not present AI-generated text as the work of a fabricated named journalist, and we will not use AI to invent quotes, sources or data.
The First Light standard
Forward-looking sections (“On the horizon”) are framed as things to watch — catalysts, dates and open questions — with uncertainty stated plainly. We do not publish unfalsifiable price-prediction clickbait, and we never present a forecast as a guarantee or as advice.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and note the correction. To report an error, email editorial@bitadvent.com or use our contact page.
Independence and disclosure
Advertising is labelled “ADVERTISEMENT” and sponsored content is labelled “SPONSORED”. Affiliate links are disclosed above the content that contains them and listed in full on our Affiliate Disclosure. We do not accept payment to publish editorial coverage, and we do not promote token presales or ICOs as editorial.
YMYL and risk
Nothing we publish is financial advice. Price and analysis pages carry a risk disclaimer, and our full position is on the Disclaimer page. See also our Ethics Policy.
