Ethics Policy

BitAdvent’s credibility depends on being genuinely independent. This page sets out the principles that protect that independence — and exactly what you can hold us to.

Editorial independence

Our editorial decisions are made by our editorial desk alone. No advertiser, project, exchange or partner has any say over what we cover, how we cover it, or the conclusions we reach. Commercial and editorial functions are kept separate, and no commercial conversation ever reaches into an article.

No pay-for-coverage

Coverage cannot be bought. No one can pay to appear on BitAdvent, to be written about favourably, or to have criticism softened or removed. Sponsored or paid content, were we ever to publish any, would be clearly and unambiguously labelled as such and never disguised as editorial. We do not accept payment to publish, delete or edit a story.

Affiliate relationships

We may earn a commission from some outbound links. We disclose this openly on our affiliate disclosure page, and a commercial relationship never influences a rating, a ranking or a recommendation. Where we earn, we say so; where a product is weak, we say that too.

Conflicts of interest

Where anyone contributing to a piece has a material interest in what it covers — a holding, a relationship, a stake — that interest is disclosed, or the person steps back from the coverage. We aim to avoid even the appearance of a conflict, and we treat our own credibility as the asset most worth protecting.

Gifts, hospitality and pressure

We do not accept gifts, payments or hospitality intended to influence coverage, and no amount of pressure — legal threats, withdrawn advertising, or lost access — changes a story that is accurate and in the public interest.

Accuracy and corrections

We verify before we publish and correct openly when we get something wrong. Substantive corrections are noted rather than hidden. Report an error, or raise an ethics concern, any time via our contact page; we take both seriously.

Respect for readers

We respect your attention and your privacy. We do not use manipulative fear-or-greed tactics to drive clicks, and we minimise the data we ask of you. When the interests of readers and advertisers conflict, readers win — that is the whole point of an independent publication. Nothing on BitAdvent is financial, investment, legal or tax advice.
